would a sprite with 143 subimages be laggy?

I just finished animating my first sprite but i dont know if 143 seperate frames is a good idea.. is it normal?

Didnt test it yet, but im just worried that its not a good idea

okay never mind, it doesnt even work "out of memory"

okay nevermind 2: i just exported the animation as a gif and then loaded it as a sprite through gamemaker and everything seems fine :D

If each of those 143 frames are 1024x1024 each then you have serious problems. If they are 16x16 then you have no problems. Everything else will be somewhere in the middle and depend on how you use them, how you generate the texture pages, and how good the PC running the game is.
