Windows Window Icon (Top, Left Corner) Issue

I am having an issue changing the icon in the top, left corner of a Windows 10 window. I make my change in the 'Global Game Settings', but the default GM icon shows when I run the project. The 'display name' change I make does work. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

I guess the icon does change when you export the game. Try to export the game.

You might find that saving your project, restarting GameMaker and recompiling again might fix this. I've noticed in the past that when setting a custom icon it will not always be applied within the executable without resetting GMS.

Give it a shot, hopefully it's the issue here.

The icon should appear in the final exe. make sure your ico file has all the sizes required

I want to apologize for not thanking you all earlier (my workload has been killing me), but thank you all for responding. Once I created an executable and ran it, my icon change did appear.
