Steam Why is the compiler super slow when there is no internet connection?

Hello,

I currently use the Steam version of Game Maker Professional. Recently, I've been having some issues with my internet and I've noticed that my game compiles so slowly that I simply have to stop. When the internet returns to normal, so does the compiler.

Is this intentional? It certainly isn't coincidence that the compiler essentially stops working when there is no internet connection.

Haven't really noticed this but then again I dont have any internet issues. Maybe try running Steam in offline mode and seeing if that helps?
