GameMaker Well I feel stupid but can I get rid of the backround of sprites

i'm not talking about the color behind certain objects I mean the transparent background. I know I need some of it but my sprite is in the bottom left corner, and I thought I could just reduce the transparent background to be around it

If I'm understanding correctly, when you open the sprite editor then in the menu go to Image->Auto-Trim all Frames. This will crop and resize your image removing unused background.
