3D Tiles work with GM Fog but not GM lighting? Can one enable it?

So I am playing around with the 3D stuff in GM:S2.


The visual aesthetic of the project works out in a way that allows me to use Tiles as ground/floor and I want to try to use the Auto-tiler of GM in order to draw things like grass patches pathways and roads. The problem is that the Tile layer does not seem to accept the GM native lighting - in this case the ambient lighting.



As you can see all the objects seem to be working with the native GM BUT the tile layer. I would really love to use the tile layer for painting roads/ trails and grass patches, among other things.

Any way to add allow the tiles to also work with lights? Perhaps there is no default shader being applied to the tiles? But then again why does Fog work?
