Some Pixel art I did a few days ago. I was just experimenting to figure out how to achieve light and shade working with limited shades.

Not my best, but still pretty proud of it.

I had to re-draw this character, Mika Ajisai, over 10 times...
So glad I finally got a final concept down.

This image still needs a little more tweaking.

Gives me that RPG maker nostalgia! omg! xD
Out of curiosity, why RPG Maker? I do see a lot of rpg templates made with RPG Maker, but I'm just making a sheet it's up to the user to format the sprites.

Because they look like RPG Maker sprites...or what I imagine them to look like, anyway. They have a bit of the classic "muscle baby" problem going on - characters that are only a few heads tall always feel a little off when you give them defined muscles. Their legs are also too far apart when they walk...foot prints usually make a pretty tight line.

RPG maker uses very similar-looking sprites :D
I used to use RPG maker before GM :)

The style is normally reffered to as half-chibi, I guess.

Chibi is what RM VX/Ace/MV use.
XP used taller sprites but with no detail...

Chibi is common, but chibi usually means small, deformed, not proportionate, and their head being almost the size of the sprite itself.

Every RPG maker uses Chibi. lol
I used to use 2003 cause the graphics of all the later ones have a dead feeling to them and cause they're slower in speed than 2003.
With 2003, I always made my sprites look as less Chibi as possible. lmao

This isn't my best work but it is something I guess...

And this dragon...

Traditional - Pencil on Posterboard

Digital - Removed Paper Texture

Digital - Added Solid-Filled Colors

Digital - Added Shading - Used GM's Pencil Tool

Digital - Cross Processed via Pixlr.com - Done

Been working on a Pichu 3D model. Except attempting to go for the eyes in the reference, it just didn't go well. So... this is the result. It's basically done, and, well... yeah.
progress.

Tomorrow I will be browsing and selecting some good artworks in here to see if any of them will enter in the art gallery. I might publish the update tomorrow but I want to make some improvements to the html5 file so it might take 2 to 3 days. You all still have time to post more artworks so keep on posting.

ALRIGHT! The GMC TOP ART Gallery is Updated!
(link on first post)

Here are some information you must know...

- The gallery does not expands the amount of artworks within it; it remains maximum 20 pieces. What happens is that it replaces one of the least quality artworks with a much better artwork made from within the October range. If your artwork is no longer in the gallery, thats because it was replaced with a better one. You gonna have to submit new art pieces that can get yourself back in the gallery.
- The link has been changed due to a server problem I had to fix. If something does not seem right, let me know.
- If art pieces come out gray, keep reloading the gallery on your browser until it loads everything properly (this gallery consists high quality internet connection to receive all data)
- New rule applied. Each user can only have a maximum of 3 artworks within the gallery. If a new artwork is made that shows more potential than their previous accepted works, the least accepted previous work will be replaced.

Next Update: December 8

Till then, keep posting your best artworks everyone!

In case anyone was wondering, yes, I am well aware that the Romans did not hang people on crosses with their arms lifted that high up, I did that intentionally to imply the lifting of hands for worship. And no, that is not meant to be Jesus. The concept of this piece was inspired by Romans 6:5-7 and Hebrews 13:15. :D

Interesting art. Although I'm not a fan of the non-AA'd lines in some areas mixed with heavy blending in others. Also that flower background is way too high contrast and blown out.

(just my 2c)

Ooh an (unofficial) art thread?

I have two works to share:

One where I was experimenting with colors and contrast:

And another where I was trying something more conceptual:

I’m somewhat tempted to make a neon remake of Asteroids Deluxe and Space Duel, yet I don’t have enough motivation for them... I made an Asteroids Deluxe remake long ago though. If I were to remake another, it’d feature the 3D-esque background using a stereogram-like technique.

Also I’d have more motivation for the Space Duel one if I could figure out how to do the tethered ship physics...

In the mean time though, this is a picture of how my Space Duel remake would probably look like if I made one, minus the score and lives indication.
