you know the real theme is "everything has a goal", don't you ?Well... only if the theme actually is 'everything has a cost'.

If Dan's clue from way before is correct, it cannot be "EVERYTHING HAS A GOAL", because it has 3 letters A.you know the real theme is "everything has a goal", don't you ?

Unless Dan is just messing with our heads....If Dan's clue from way before is correct
My new revised theme guess is...£ _ £ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ / _ _ $ / _ / _ _ $ _
I was going to do this but couldn't be bothered to hunt down all the currency symbols lol€₩€₨¥৳௹₶₦₲ / ௹₳$ / ₳ / ¢¤$₮
How about a game about costly art?Making lots of art. Maybe a game to follow..........?
Well, at least this theme has been pretty much known for a while, so I'm pretty sure you had enough time to think of some concept.Wow, cool theme, let's see what one can make in 4-5 hours
How true is that! Hmmm wouldn't that make a cool game idea......... Nothing like mocking ones self! How about a game about costly art?
...I just got reminded of all these artist memes about all these commissioners who want to pay with "exposure", sometimes even going as far to say that it's the artist who should pay money for such an opportunity.
While I don't have the time for this jam, I did have an idea similar to this when I saw the theme being guessed. A SHMUP where you have to buy everything. You couldn't click play or even quit buttons until you'd caught enough falling coins in the title screen. The play button would have autobuy and autoclick enabled so you can't keep on catching coins when you have enough; it could be disabled but of course would cost you more. The item shop would have everything you need to play. Even controls, enemy visibility and bullet visibility (enemy and your own) and gaining score from kills. So the first playthrough would be you unable to move the ship or shoot or see anything, but the miniscule time spent in game would be enough to earn enough coin to unlock one directional control. And so on. Of course after everything's unlocked it is just your old SHMUP, so the idea wasn't terribly exciting to me.You have to pay at the start to buy the UI, the mouse cursor and even Play button itself!
You must secretly work for EA.While I don't have the time for this jam, I did have an idea similar to this when I saw the theme being guessed. A SHMUP where you have to buy everything. Darn, busted! ...I mean, I definitely didn't sign that contract nor the NDA.You must secretly work for EA.
Just fix it with MORE code,Yikes. My game is falling apart right at the end here, what I thought was going to be the simplest mechanic is proving to be one of the more difficult to program.
Objects not staying where I want them to be, double/triple spawns, things glitching their way into position...
This is going about as well as I thought it would
This is so cute. I'm excited to play it!
We're IRL friends that @Cat dragged into these game jamsWho are those people that you're working with ? They've got no posts o:
SAAAAAAMEI've submitted my entry. It's nowhere near done but I didn't get the time to finish it. Good luck to the rest of you
How do these clues even work ?Jam theme Clue 1:
