Hello everyone! Haven't been around too much this week, missed these latest comments, thought I'd check in and give an update;
Episode 10 interview is in the bag, big thanks to
@WarpDogsVG
I've got four overdue days off from work now so taking a break but so expect the episode to drop next Friday - 1st September.
And we may have a winner for the ill-fated competition!
---------------
@Chatterb0x - another big thank you for coming on the show
@hogwater - thanks dude, glad you're enjoying the show. Apologies to anyone who thinks the theme music is too long. I'm more used to composing music of a more substantial length, most of my intros don't hit their stride until a minute and a half! I find it surprisingly difficult to write anything coherent under 45 seconds long. I will possibly have a go at a new theme soon and see if I can trim it down a bit.
I'll make enquiries into getting to speak to Derek Yu. Many thanks for the suggestion
Cheers
@chamaeleon - glad to have you aboard
@Wayfarer - And massive thanks for the further suggestions of potential interviewees.
I'll be perfectly honest, after episode 10 I have no future interviews currently lined up, and I haven't really gone outside this forum much to find people to interview so far. But seeing as I'm getting some listener feedback here I'll have a go at getting hold of them
And the volume difference is by design. The idea is that the first few quiet bars of the music have most of the low end sounds eq'd out - so it sounds a bit like 8 bit chiptune music coming out of a tinny little speaker - there's no bass. You get the first few measures of that, then the Scream and everything, then all the frequencies are brought back in and the volume goes up dramatically and a dodgy Dubstep beat comes. It's sort of meant to signify the transition from old to new.
The loud bit isn't that loud, but the quiet bit is very quiet. I have had a few people mention that they instinctively turn up the quiet bit so they can hear it properly, then have their eardrums burst by the load bit. What can I say? I slightly enjoy messing with people by putting subversive things in bits of music! Watcha' gonna' do, sue me?
(please don't sue me!
)
And
@tris2n - very many thanks. If you're only on Ep1 then I'm pleased to tell you the sound quality does get better after about episode 4 and I waffle a lot less now than I did in the first episode!
