Question - IDE stuck on building process

hello!

so i bought the gamemaker studio 2 creator edition from humble bundle, i downloaded and installed it and when i try to run any project, it gets stuck on the building process at the top right.

as you can see, it was going for an hour.

i tried reinstalling, rebooting my machine, clearing the cache, but no luck. anyone got any ideas?

It might be the runtime:
go to preferences > runtime feeds and check if you have the latest one installed and selected

I've tried re-installs as well as running as admin, and updating windows etc...

What has worked for me is rolling back to the previous runtime.

If only rolling back to an older runtime works, then it could be that your IDE is too old to support the latest runtime. You never want to pair up an old IDE with a new runtime.

For those of you getting GMS 2 from HB, stop using the installer from HB as soon as you get registered with a YoYo account. As GMS 2 continues to develop, the installer on HB will only fall farther and farther behind. Start getting your installers from your YoYo Accounts Download page or the Release Notes.

Please do NOT downgrade the runtimes. Do what @FrostyCat says and log into your YoYo Account and download and install the latest IDE version from there if the Humble Bundle one is not the latest.

Can I ask what IDE version you are using that you got from Humble? Tbh, Humble should be giving out the latest....
