Strange Physics Lag

So I've been having this problem for a few weeks now and I was hoping someone here could help me out.
The game I'm currently developing is based mostly upon physics, specifically objects falling using the built in gravity feature of game maker. pretty simple stuff. But for some odd reason, the physics in my game decide to start lagging at random times. The FPS of the game stays well above 1,000 at all times even when the physics are lagging. I have checked my instances and nothing is being created continuously and there are no more than 6 physics objects active at one time. If anyone has any clue to why this is happening, I would very much appreciate the help.

Thank you in advance,
zeoxo

Based on the info you gave it's hard to tell what the problem is. I would suggest that you put one physics object in the room at a time and see which one is causing the lag. Then you might be able to figure it out or at least provide more info.

Okay I'll definitely try that, thank you!
