Question - Code [SOLVED] Variable definition not returning empty array

I'm defining an empty array (requiredFlags) in an object's variable definitions like so:

For some reason, this is returning an array of size 1, with 0 as the first value.
I did the exact same thing in another project and that returned an empty array as intended.
This is fairly easy to work around but I'm wondering if anyone knows why this is happening?

Edit: Adding a list item, selecting it in the drop down, then deselecting it resolved the issue.
