Android [SOLVED] Please, help! The game crashes instantly on some Android devices

I apologize for my poor English.

The thing is I'm in a dare need of help. Not long ago, I launched a game that I have worked on for quite some on Google Play. The game had been playtested numerous times on my old good Galaxy S4, and it seemed to run fine. However, once I launched a game on Google Play, some of my friends tried it and complained that it crashes immediately upon being run, with the usual message, "Unfortunately, <Project Name> has stopped".

Particularly, one of the testers tried it with Galaxy S7 and another one used Galaxy S6 with Android 6 on the devices. The game used to crash constatnly on both devices, though another user with Galaxy S6 and Android 6.0.1 run the app successfully.

Since then, I have tried lots of different ways to cope with this problem: I updated the build tools and support lib as well as Target SDK and Compile SDK. I now have the following settings:

(I use NDK r13b.)

I also tried combinations of different architectures (Armv7 only, Armv5 and 7, all architectures), but to no avail. I even downloaded the newest v1.99.525 version of Game Maker, but that didn't help either.

I suspect this problem may be related to the Google extensions I use:

I noticed that when I try to run the game on my phone not by downloading it from Google Play, but by connecting the phone to the PC and running the Compiler, sometimes the phone would send me the message:
"Unable to get a valid license, please ensure that you have purchased this product."

After a while it started running on my phone, but the cmd file would constatly show "I/yoyo (21789): !!!!##### failed license check reason=291 #####!!!!!!" message. The app still does not run on the devices mentioned earlier and some other devices when downloaded from Google Play.

you are using the ndk bundle...........

ok im not making a promise this will fix what is going on but it will address getting you straightened out so you can compile with the most recent version, if you still have problems from there then at least you know its not the system and that will help a great deal.

please look at my post in the link below, its a bit lengthy and will require you uninstalling and reinstalling a bunch of stuff but if you do then it should assist you considerably.

beyond that i don't know what is going wrong right now but at least once all this is done you will be able to reasonably easily pull up a lint report and from there can start picking out what might be the cause.

You should be using NDK r12b as per the SDK Version Support article.
It may not fix your problem, but it's the first thing I noticed in regards to incorrect setup as advised by YYG.

Start fresh and go through the guide @JML linked you to and see how you go from there?

Thanks for your concern: I did everything according to the instruction posted by JML, with the exception of installing a later version of JDK, 8u121, if I'm not mistaken. However, I noticed this mistake, uninstalled it and installed jdk-8u102-windows-i586.exe instead. I also donwloaded the newest versions of Google Extensions.

Alas, the problem still occurs! It seems that the root in the problem somehow lies in the Google Play APK expansion (https://marketplace.yoyogames.com/assets/2010/google-play-apk-expansion). When beta testers download the app to one of the problematic devices the following happens:

1. They try to run the app.
2. The app crashes.
3. They restart the phone.
4. The app runs OK after the restart.

One of the reviews on the extension's page mentions an analogical issue: https://marketplace.yoyogames.com/assets/2010/google-play-apk-expansion. Also, a similar, if not and identical issue was reported here: http://bugs.yoyogames.com/view.php?id=19941 .

I think more people might have encountered this problem. Please, if anybody know how to deal with Google Play APK extension crashing the game on some devices (yet working after the restart), could you propose a solution?

I'm grateful for your help! I found out what the issue was.

Apparently, I wasn't supposed to use Google Play Expansion extension - especially keeping in mind that my game was less than in 50 MB in size. Well, stupid me. All is well now.

i still got this error with latest JDK, iam sure the error is inside the extension expansion. anyone riddled this one out ?
