Whats your best and easiest method for making an animated GIF of your game video?

If pixelart:
Buy aseprite and start drawing

Else there are some plugins for Photoshop and other drawings that can convert different layers into animation frames.

You could also use different layers in gamemaker (for bg and characters) and move and animated them from code

Thanks for the reply But I meant making a GIF of a recorded video of your game, such as:

GifCam for quick and easy gifs, OBS if you want a bit more control but it's harder to setup.

Premiere seems a bit overkill.
If OBS doesn't support gif export use VirtualDub or some other free tool to convert/encode.

...or just use GifCam.

I use the same on Windows ^^

But if someone has Mac, you can use GIPHY Capture. It has been working nicely and it is also simple to use.

I use OBS te record the screen and then I go to screentogif to turn it into a gif

That's what I used for my GIF.

I use Screencast-O-Matic for my video / .gif editing. I think its $20 per year. Uploading it seems to modify the quality.
