Windows [Solved] FAILED: Run Program Complete

    Sigh,.. its that error again.

    Alright. So I've trying clearing my cache, restarting my pc, updating to the latest Runtime, but GMS still fails to launch my project. I do not see any errors, and the syntax window says so as well.

    Nvm, fixed it. Just noticed an error with the "minion" object. I hope future updates will allow GMS 2 to inform me when there is an error. It couldn't pick out the if (place_free) as being malformed (should be ("if place_free(x,y)" ).

    The output window is clearly telling you that there is an error, and where it is. You just need to look at the output to find the two places where it is telling you the errors. I don't think newer versions should have to provide more information as what is there is fine provided people actually read the output window (or just search it for "Error").

    I was talking about the code editor, not the output window. Errors such as the one with place_free above cannot be picked by the code editor which is something I didn't know until now. I meant if this particular issue could be addressed in later updates. Isn't it more convenient to be informed about an error on the spot instead of waiting for your project to compile, having it fail to run, copying the output text into notepad, searching for the error, correcting the problem, then compiling again?
