HTML5 SOLVED: Do you think HTTPS encryption is important for a game?

I've got a number of my educational games available online and I'm approaching schools to use them. I notice that, because my URL is only HTTP and not HTTPS, the browsers now say that my site in "not secure." There's no money, no financial information, and no username or password exchanged on my games, so I don't know if I should go to the trouble and expense to add the encryption. I suppose I should add the encryption, but I don't know if this venture is going to make any money to cover the expense. Do you think people would avoid my games because their browsers say they are not secure? Would it open up my games to someone hijacking them somehow? Opinions welcomed.

You should. Also some search engines also rate you lower if it isn't https. The company I work for did this a few years ago just for that reason.

I would definitely suggest you do so, there might be others like myself that immediately frown upon insecure content being delivered in the browser. Even if it is a simple game, you have no guarantee you're playing the actual content the author created and not some hacked version that is stealing your cookies, mining crypto currencies or doing other shenanigans in the background. It could still be doing that, but with https at least you would be able to say that it was doing that out of the author's own volition, and just bring the author to justice for that or just discard their content for all eternity.

Hey, that appears to be FREE! :) Thanks NightFrost!
If you login to your control panel on your web host there is usually a plug-in that you can use to install Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates.

Will depends on your host and what they have setup in terms of your account, but I’ve used a few different hosts and all had it available in their regular domain control panel.
