Slow Compile Time

An SSD will make a huge difference. It's been a while since I've NOT had an SSD, but from memory it cut compile time in half. Reading all those project files and writing .dat files and texture groups is probably the majority of your compile time.

Its weird. I noticed when I first compile from a fresh load it is slow as hell. But t he next subsequent compiles its fast as hell.

That's normal. It doesn't regenerate texture pages or audio files unless you change graphics or audio.
