Hey Babe,

I've never really been much for long term collaboration. I usually move from project to project since most developers can't seem to keep up with me. Some might call me a serial monogameist. I'm really just looking for something light... a short term fling... a Game Jam even?

So, whether you're single, already have a partner, or are rolling a manage-a-trois, I'm open minded and ready to dive in with any team. I like long walks on the beach, as well as music and sfx for indie games:

if you want to see more pics go to:

www.zminusone.com (mmmm lots mo' pics there... also I have a list of previous relationships & their thoughts on my... general performance)

If long term commitment is more you're style; I'm down to take it slow.

After going through the provided soundcloud, I have to say that I'm impressed. Your music is great and you have a ridiculous range of variety. If I were in need of a musician this very moment I would hire you without a blink.

I'm a fan and I need to take a page from your book.

As one musician to another, could you possibly share a little insight on how you manage to come up with so much variety with your music?
I always feel like a one show pony when I make a new song because I always go back to what I'm comfortable with.
When I try to break out of my comfort zone my thoughts get going and I end up tossing whatever I was working on.

Hi Hippyman,
First off, thanks for the comment. I've been playing and writing music for a very long time - especially when you consider the lopsided amount of hours I've put into it. I enjoy many different styles of music and in general like to figure out what makes things tick.

As far as insight goes, I'm not so good at advice, but I guess a few general things I feel strongly about are: Be patient. Work hard on learning an instrument. Listen actively & analytically to many different styles and genres of music. Work hard on the craftsmanship of writing music. Don't stress about being super "original" all the time. Finally, and probably most important, just have fun!

Thanks again for checking my music out!

Cheers,
Brian

Hey GameMaker Forums,

I've been making monthly playlists of new stuff I make during the month... mostly... This one is for June:

https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/june-2016

This month features 21 new tracks, ranging from 80s Synthwave, Epic, Orchestral Ambiance, Drum & Bass, Solo Piano, Improvisations & Ramblings, and even a little Bach-ish Invention, etc... About an hour and half of music! I actually had to update to a soundcoud pro unlimited account just yesterday. Anyway, not all of it is 100% new some are a few old (even ancient) things I've been fiddling with and finally posted; however, there's a lot of stuff to check out.

Take care!

Oh yeah, for those of you interested, here are links to the last couple months as well:

Hi GMC!

I participated in my first Game Jam last month, here at the GMC forums! I was coming back from a tour and then a quick vacation - so I actually only caught the last 12 hours of the Jam due to scheduling! I pulled through and provided music and some SFX for a three different games, all with people I didn't really know from the GMC! I worked on Last Stand with @Jett, The Aftermath with @Tselmek & Last Hope with @HayManMarc! It was fun - although a little intense. I ended up writing about 11 minutes of music in about 12 hours - a record for me! Check the music below:

https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/game-maker-apocalypse-jam

Also! Here's last months playlist, which really isn't much other than the stuff I made for the jam. Like I was saying I was on tour in UK and Germany for a bit and then a little bit of vacation on top of that - so July was a relatively slow month =(

https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/july-2016

August has also been busy with travel so that playlist might suck as well, but I have a lot of projects on my plate so expect great things in the weeks to come :)

As always hit me up on here or Twitter @zminusone if you want to chat about literally ANYTHING game or music related! Or hey - I'm not the most plugged in so if you know of a future game jam and want to jam with me hit me up! ;)

Cheers!

Hey GMC!

I recently had a big update to my website and thought I'd share. Check it out and let me know if you notice anything weird.
http://www.zminusone.com/

Also featured on the website, I have a new sound design demo:

Also check last months playlist, if you care to. August was another slow writing month due to some sound design work and travelling. I did write a little bit for the Ludum Dare 36 and updated a couple tracks from July's GMC Jam.

Don't hesitate to look me up on twitter @zminusone to connect. I'm all about internetworking :)

Honestly when I seen your first post i thought. either this guy is crazy, or he is simply crazy good. listened to about 15 tracks and seem your sound demo real.

It seems you are crazy good, DON'T EVER STOP!

Do you have basic rates for projects you work on?

Hi GMC!

October wasn't the best month for me... in terms of writing, but I liked some of the stuff I did quite a bit! October's playlist:

https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/october-2016

Also, if you feel inclined a cool, cute adventure game I have been writing music for is on Greenlight! It's called Cat Quest. Would be swell if you'd check it out, maybe vote ;) ;)

You can hear more Cat Quest music here:

https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/cat-quest

Also, if you're into it check this music out I've been writing. It's for a super sweet 2d dark-souls-y game called Unworthy!

https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/unworthy

There's links on the tracks to more info about the game. I know the developer has been sending out early alpha builds for playtesting, might want to get in on that! :)

Anyway <3 for checking my stuff out and take care GMC!

Hey GMC!

Been a while since I posted on here. Been working on lots of stuff though!

A super cute game I've been working on called Cat Quest was released on Steam and iOS earlier this month! Will be on PS4 and Switch later this year! You guys should check it out it's quite fun!

Anyway, here's the Cat Quest OST!

https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/cat-quest-ost

Also! A cool project I've been working on called Beyond Human released a playable demo on Itchio and Game Jolt!

Here's some of the music I've been writing for that project. Epic meets epic meets sci-fi meets epic:
https://soundcloud.com/zminusone/sets/beyond-human

Beyond Human is currently on Kickstarter! Unfortunately, it's getting down to the wire and we are not funded, so check it out and spread the word if you want!

Other than that... well there's lots of stuff, but I don't know what else to share... always writing, always looking for more projects, so hit me up! Thanks for listening!
