Hello, I and some others have had issues with the new spring update of windows 10 crashing the game if shaders are used. I found the fix for windows 10 spring update that breaks shaders! someone on steam solved it, it's a direct x issue and you just need to download the fix, here's the article on steam . THIS IS NOT A FAULT OF YOUR GAME OR GMS, IT'S A FAULT OF WINDOWS.

I'm posting this here in game design and publishing because you may want to display a notice to your end users that if they get a crash error stating

D3DXCompile failed - result on (line -1)

they need to update their direct x, which can be downloaded Here: https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilt...osoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

To install it, make a folder on your desktop (or wherever you can easilly find it) and put the downloaded file in it, double click it and and select the folder you just made, when it's done extracting double click the DXSETUP.exe icon and it will install the update.
