Mac OSX Right Click no longer working after update (Mac)

I haven't used Gamemaker in a couple of weeks. On logging in yesterday, I downloaded the latest update and found I was unable use my rightclick (control + click). This means I seem to be unable to delete layers, duplicate assets etc, anything that requires the use of a drop down menu. My right click works fine in other programmes. I was also able to previously zoom in/out on the workspace by using my touchpad. This doesn’t seem to work anymore and the only way I can get it to work now is by manually clicking the magnifying glass icons. Finally, all of my menus/toolbars seem to be significantly more zoomed in than they were previously. This means each of them appear to display less information than before and it’s a bit unwieldy.

I'm not sure if these issues are a result of the update or not, but it's the only explanation I can currently come up with. I could live with being unable to use my touchpad for zoom and the menu size, but not being able to right click anything makes it really difficult to get anything done. Does anyone have any advice on how I might solve these issues?
