I read online that the current Google play extension of game maker doesn't support Rewarded ad units (where you get a reward for watching an Ad)

is there any possible way to put rewarded ad units in an Android Game?

Yes, this is only an issue with the google admob extension. You can get other extensions that use a different ad service that supports reward videos
