Windows Resources Greyed out

I just installed the free version of GMS2 (game maker studio 2). I load it up and create a new file. All the resources are greyed out. I don't know why. I haven't done or changed anything. It is a fresh install. Is this due to the free version? I cant cl ick or use them in any way... help? The image shows what i mean.

There's nothing wrong with that being like that. You're supposed to add whatever resources needed to make your game yourself. You're probably confusing GMS with other game development software which some of them supplies the resources. You can however download some samples (demos) or tutorial projects from the "Start Page" to learn the basics. But by default, that blank page is what you should want to see whenever you start a new project.
