Legacy GM Resource files prefixing themselves

As my project gets closer to being done I'm running into all kinds of issues. But I suspect they are all related to this one issue.

Sometimes when I create new objects in my project a different object randomly gets prefixed with the folder path.

For example, if I create a new object and call it obj_Enemy2 another random object, maybe "obj_Crate" gets prefixed "objects/obj_Crate"

And when I go to rename it back to normal GMS throws an error, then other weird stuff starts happening.

Anyone know what this is?
