Resolution Scaling not Working Correctly

Hi, I'm making a game in GM:S 1.4 and I want to implement resolution scaling. The base resolution of the game is 800x600, but it should automatically detect your resolution and set the game's view and port to that. This should make it so when you go on with a resolution higher than 800x600 (in my case 1920x1080) it kinda 'zooms out' and everything should look pixel perfect. Instead, what happens is it zooms out, everything looks really messed up, and the mouse can only move around in 1/4th of the screen (the quarter in the top left corner) and clicking buttons does nothing... how could I fix this?
