Whenever the GMC gets a surge of beginners all at once, I know the time has come for another batch of students. Unfailingly, not one batch has pleased me thus far in 5 years.
Many recent topics by student posters show a rather weak grasp of GMS fundamentals, and that can and must change. Not knowing the 4 basic events (Create, Step, Draw, Destroy), basic variable/array handling (scope and declarations) and basic GML constructs (e.g. if-else, switch-case-default, for, while, do-until, with) is unacceptable at the 3-month mark. You paid for this, take it seriously or I won't be the only one disappointed.
So here's my offer: One of you students post the syllabus and some samples of notes/assignments from your course. I'll help point out where you should be paying special attention or what information is missing/wrong. If doing this means you are then equipped to solo your final assignment and exam, then that's music to my ears.
