Windows PS4 Controller via bluetooth not working with GMS2

Hey,

I have a weird problem. When I connect a PS4 controller to my Windows 10 laptop via USB it works just fine in GMS2. But when I connect it with Bluetooth, GMS2 detects it (with "gamepad_get_description") and says it is connected (with "gamepad_is_connected") but it does not register any inputs from it. That means that none of the "gamepad_button_check", etc. functions work for the controller.

So the only difference I find between the different connection types (with USB or with Bluetooth) is that the inputs are not registered with bluetooth. The mappings are also identical in both cases.

I also created an executable for Windows 10 and the issue still remained.

I am working on GMS2 via Steam, and tested some different controller settings on steam as well, but they had no effect. I assume that they shouldn't either way?

Any idea what could be the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Try using ds4windows. https://ryochan7.github.io/ds4windows-site/

I had the same problem as you are having and, just like you have found, the PS4 Controller isn't seen via Bluetooth. After installing ds4windows, it's basically a driver that tricks Windows 10 into thinking the ps4 controller is a wireless XBox 360 controller, the PS4 controller now works with everything wirelessly via Bluetooth.

That works, thanks a lot!

I'm wondering if there are any "non-trick" ways to solve this but this solution is perfectly enough for me :)
