Windows Problem accessing vital system folder on windows 10

Hello, I just purchased GMS2 on Steam and can't wait to check it out, however I got a message while loading that says: "Game Maker Studio 2 is unable to access vital system folder" (see attachment) and shows the common c:/users/username/documents/GameMakerStudio 2. I changed folder permissions but no luck, the only thing I noticed (from the attached screenshot actually) is a slash sign on the folder path, shouldn't be a backslash? Just guessing.

Anyway if someone knows how to solve it I will really appreciate it, I wanted to buy it since it was released. Thx!

Back- and forward slashes should be usable interchangeably on reasonably modern installations of Windows operating systems... however, there's a chance it's not properly handled under the hood. Let's explore other options first, though.

Are you running GMS2 as an administrator? This may resolve permission issues (if this is one - unsure).

I found this topic which may be relevant to your issue: https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?threads/cannot-run-debug-html5-game.61475/
It contains a solution involving changing settings of a native Windows feature. Try this and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the quick response! I figured it out from one of the thread's comments about the W10 ransomware protection. Just need to open the virus protection settings and turn off the "Real-time protection" before opening GMS2. The same happened to other games before so it works now, however the PC becomes vulnerable so there's a way to create exceptios for this real-time protection, look on those settings and whitelist the desired apps.

Thanks again!
