A nice feature many code editors have, is the option to have the mouse cursor turn off when typing. Simply to prevent it from possibly obscuring any text.
And with an auto-complete pop-up like GM2 has, the mouse cursor cause even more of a detraction: When the auto-complete pop-up appears, I often find my attention drawn to whatever random line the mouse cursor may be incidentally highlighting. Takes me a moment to realize that line is not the suggested auto-completion, that's just the mouse cursor being a nuisance.
