Windows Open Ocean: A small game with a powerful message

I just released my first indie game, Open Ocean, using GameMaker! In Open Ocean, you’ll discover what it's like to live the life of a shark in today's open ocean. It’s a small game with a powerful message.

Key Features:
  • Be a shark!
  • Swim around!
  • Eat things!
  • Grow into an adult shark!
  • Explore an endless open ocean!

Unfortunately (Though fortunate in other ways), I work at a AAA game studio. Anything I make belongs to them, which has killed all motivation for working on indie games for me. I did work on a very small 2D "roguelike" platformer with grapple hook mechanics called The Lost Ziggurat of Nephthys for a game jam about a year and a half ago, if you want to check that out:

I also have a very fun concept for a 2D adventure game that's a mix between Legend of Zelda and Pokemon. If I ever leave my job, I'm totally going to work on that!

Well, as it turns out, I chose to leave my cushy AAA job to pursue my dream of becoming an indie game developer! I just started working on a 2D local PVP platformer with grappling hook mechanics about two weeks ago. It's currently using a lot of the same stuff that The Lost Ziggurat of Nephthys used, but I'll keep developing it into its own thing. Here's my first devlog video if you want to check it out:
