Online Multiplayer on GMS2

Hello guys,

I've been curious for a while how complicated and what requirements are needed for online multiplayer on GMS2 for making an co-op online game, for example like Diablo, where up to 4 players can play together and loot stuff.

And also, does other engines like Unity make your life easier with this type of stuff?

Some engines offer some variation of Remote Procedure Call out of box. Plenty of people made similar things for GM, as script_execute and script IDs being numeric make it easy enough.

General networking isn't very different engine-to-engine.
