Legacy GM Old Collsions vs. Fast Collsions vs. Fast Collsions Compatibilty Mode

In Gm Studio 1.4.1767 there's a "use fast collision system" option you can tick, but also a "use fast collision system compatibility mode." What does the compatibility mode do differently than the first one? Something more specific than makes it more compatible please. Also what sort of things would change because of fast collisions besides speed?

This is another way to handle collision (that I suppose is faster) called "spatial collision" (don't ask what it means) but its clearly undertalked.
Couldn't find interesting info in the manual or google so this brings the question to me too

This thread is interesting. The feature still had some bugs apparently:
https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?threads/fast-collision-system.6264/

Its also not in the doc:
https://docs.yoyogames.com/source/dadiospice/001_advanced use/global game settings/general tab.html

Mike and the staff obviously knows more about this. User Rujik (who's making that awesome RPG in the "work in progress section") knows how its coded (or at least the logic the GMS version should use).
So PLEASE, I want details too! I want to see what's it worth to use it in my game or not.
