Objects always spawn the same sprite

Hello,
i am just starting to learn GMS 2 so forgive me if this is a stupid question.
I was following a tutorial where i had to put a new Object (a gun) into my Workspace.
But every object i place in the workspace becomes the sprite of my character.

What code did you put in the gun object, specifically, did you put any code that changes the sprite_index?

The only code that i used was in the player object but i didnt mention any in the gun object.

Clean your project using the broom icon next to the run icon. Clear caches from within preferences and see if that makes a difference.
