Question - IDE Mouse wheel scroll not working

Hi everyone,

I'm just getting started following some tutorials and have been absolutely confused by something with the interface. Scrolling my mouse wheel does nothing at all. If I hold control, then I can zoom in and out, but rolling the wheel alone does nothing. I found the setting in "general > input" that says control required for mouse wheel zoom and tried unchecking it. After that, the mouse wheel alone still does nothing, but when holding control now it scrolls up and down.

I'm sure that what is supposed to be going on is that I am able to use the mouse wheel with and without a modifier key to accomplish different things. IE: scroll vertically and horizontally, and zoom in and out. But, for some reason without a modifier key nothing happens for me.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I found the solution for anyone else who encounters this problem.

It was a conflict with X-Mouse Button Control. In X-Mouse settings disable "Make scroll wheel scroll window under cursor" and that will solve the issue.
