HTML5 Make HTML5 game accessible for screen readers

I'm making an HTML5 game and am wondering if there's a (reasonably easy) way of making the texts (drawn with draw_text()) readable by screen readers. Maybe a JavaScript extension that puts <p>the text</p> on the page? Does anyone have experiences with this?

You would indeed want to make a little JS extension that would put (likely transparent and with CSS `pointer-events:none`) elements across the page. May need to add minimal caching so that you don't re-create an element while the browser is reading it aloud.
