Mac OSX MacOs YYC: compiled game still opens Steam even when it is disabled

ISSUE: When I try to compile the game to an executable (YYC) and launch the app, *it opens steam,* but then the game doesn't launch.

MY GOAL: just make a regular executable I can launch **that doesn't link itself to Steam**.

*Here's what I have:*

  1. Game Options -> General shows my Steam ID, although different numbers (480) still cause the same issue.
  2. Game Options -> MacOS
  3. AppID is my ID from the Steamworks dashboard
  4. I am a certified Mac Developer and everything with codesigning looks like it works.
  5. Enable steam is **unchecked!**

I previously was trying to launch my game through Steam (months ago) and I think that may have caused my problems. I would REALLY appreciate any help on this as a publisher has reached out to me about my game and would like the latest version.

THANKS!
