Hi, my name is Jacob. My friend and I have been working on a game for a little while with no prior experience, and are looking to finish the game we started a while back.

Postions!
Spriter: [CLOSED]
Music Developer/Composer [CLOSED]

The game is a sci-fi top-down rail/open space shooter, with elements similar to games like 1945, Galaga, and Starfox. The game also has a fairly detailed lore, as a way of getting people interested in the game and talking about it.

Story: The game takes place in a galactic cluster. You play as a smuggler/mercenary in an intergalactic conflict, and are promised total absolution from past crimes if you are willing to dive headfirst into battle against your nation's foes. You will protect your native galaxy from outside foes with the hope of destroying their naval forces completely.

Design: The game looks and feels like a mixture of Galaga and Starfox, with the potential for many ways to play the game, including escorting flagships, mining asteroids, knocking down waves of enemies, and dogfighting.

Music: The music sounds like a mixture of Starfox + Star Wars + Retro elements. The star wars and star fox elements would be slower paced than you would hear in their games/movies.

At the start of the project, we had multiple people working on the art and music for the game, but due to other commitments like work and school, the peers we had committed to the project did not want to stay committed.

Music developers should be expected to make a lot of ambient music, and if you decide to stay with us beyond this game, ambient music will be used a lot. If you need inspiration, I can play tracks from other games to give an idea of what type of music i'd perfer.

Art developers will be developing a ton of ships, some stellar objects, and potentially, backgrounds in rooms, if you feel up to it.

We're looking for developers who are looking for experience (I am NOT paying anything up front, I don't make enough money right now to give you anything, but I am promising a percentage of the revenue depending on how long you stick with the project), and are eager to learn and want to get their foot in the door of the gaming industry with a completed project. I do not mind commitments like work or school, as long as you are willing to devote at least 7-14 hours a week to the project. Keep in mind, while you are doing this for us, you are also doing this for yourself. You are able to refine your talent this way, by making music or art on specific parameters that we can go over and give constructive criticism. I am not particularly good at either, but I'm willing to look at them and compare them with what music and art was made beforehand. (When you contact me, I will show you the work we have made to give you an idea of what the game looks, sounds, and feels like. I do not mind you diversifying the design, however.)

We're both EST, but are comfortable with any time zone. We use Discord to communicate and Google Drive to share and keep track of files. you can contact me on Discord at Aimanfire#0306, or email me at [email protected]. We appreciate you considering the offer, and we'll appreciate you working with us.
