I'm about to buy the creator version of Gamemaker but I saw at the bottom that I get a 12-month license. What does that mean?

slightly more specifically, Creator license lasts a year, at which point you would have to either renew it (renewal is not automatic) or purchase a regular (non-time-limited) desktop license at 30% off (IIRC).
