Android Kotlin and GMS2

The Android Developers Blog article states that development on Kotlin will be a priority:
"Today we’re announcing another big step: Android development will become increasingly Kotlin-first. Many new Jetpack APIs and features will be offered first in Kotlin. If you’re starting a new project, you should write it in Kotlin"

Are there any plans to support this language in GMS2?

Since Kotlin is itself interoperable with Java (source), I think it's already implicitly supported. It's just a matter of whether YoYo finds the time to officially document the interface from GMS 2's extension mechanism to Kotlin.
