Is a Wrapping Background practical?

Hi Gang,
I commandeered another thread to ask this question, but the thread got buried.

I'm working on a mobile game where enemies approach from left and right. Think Kung Fury: Street Rage.
The player character initially moved towards enemies. But once they reached the level end it was obvious which direction enemies approached from. So I took a cue from Flappy Birds and made the player stationary. Now the background objects move when player swipes, however there is a new problem.

There are blossoms, trees, and a rock object. When the rock objects wraps around the screen it leaves a brief gap. My thought now is to make the rock and roots into a wrapping background image (Player can interact with blossoms). Any thoughts?
