I am working on my first game on Game Maker and I want you guys to see what it has turned out to be like. I have not been working with Game Maker for long about 2 weeks now and I wanted to create a game so I can get use to what all the events and all the buttons do on the game. But this is how it turned out. (I am very sorry about the design I am really bad at drawing ;-; )
As you can see in the picture below ;-;

The is the level selection where you use your character to choose which level to go in ( There is no level lock at the moment because like I said I haven't been using this for long)

Built with a fully functioning Restart button but cannot get the pause button to work properly and has plenty of hidden secrets to find for you!

!------! Warning !-----! I did not make that Monster the monster can be found in the store for free, plus the monster does not have any movement because again I am not very good at using Game Maker yet. There is hidden rooms full of goodies for the user to find and use.

Hi, for starters well done on getting something playable made - I started learning GM 3-4 years ago and I remember what it was like!

Pros
* The interface is bright and clear
* Using the character to select the level is a clever use of in-game mechanics

Cons
* Yes the art is terrible, but don't worry! It's _always_ better to concentrate on making something FUN before something that looks good.
* It is not clear what the objectives are, think about including pop-up messages, arrows, and plenty of feedback to the player that what they are doing is right/wrong

If I can provide one piece of advice? It's great fun creating your _own_ games with your own ideas BUT you may find it helpful to first try to create a clone of an existing game like asteroids, space invaders, pong, etc - that way you can concentrate on learning GM and not be distracted trying to invent your own mechanics and gameplay - that can come later when you have the knowledge to implement them!

best of luck
