SOLVED How to rotate part of the view, but keep the GUI in place

I have a puzzle "match" game I'm working on one of the mechanics is that you can rotate the board.

I have this working fine by using camera_set_view_angle

My problem is that now anything outside of that game board that I draw onto the screen, such as GUI elements etc, are also rotated.

Does anyone know how I can keep the game board rotating but draw the GUI elements as if it wasn't rotated?
