The only tutorials I can find are for older versions of Game maker. I have the desktop version of Game maker studio 2. How do I go about exporting a standalone app of the game to share with my friends?
But sadly, it was possible for others to extract some of resources from "data.win", not sure if it's possible with GMS2, but in all cases "YYC" export version is best solution if you want to secure much as possible.
