Thats cool and all but the syntax highlighting wouldnt mix up the colors

There was a time GMS zipped my entire desktop into a project folder. I don't remember what I did, but it was a mess lmao. I think I was dragging files into the included files folder, and it just snatched my whole C:users directory for some reason

If you design/code a ui where all text is rendered to screen as textures (like how modern windows does it) and store both your positional data with your text color data, I can see how something like an array/dbase shift could cause this kind of mess up.

Kind of like mixing up vertex/color/uv channel data in 3d models. Modern uis share a lot in common with 3D in regards to how they're drawn to the screen.
