Graven: A Folk Horror [Image heavy]

So, for the next year I'm aiming to roughly make and code one game a month; there's two reasons for this, one, I'm really good at overcomplicating ideas I have and then feeling like I can't make them, so I'm hoping to just get an idea, and keep it pure and simple. Secondly, I'm not great at code (I'm the more advanced side of "amateur", by my reckoning) and I'd like to practice coding in small bursts.

So this is one of the ideas I've made. It's going to be out within the next few days, I'm just in the final stages of bug testing and tightening everything up. It's called Graven, and it's based on a weird dream I had. It's gonna have, hopefully, folk horror vibes; there's even a reference to The Wicker Man in there because of course there is. All in all, its taken me 28 days to make, not counting these last bug-testing stages. But I already feel like I'm learning so thats grand.

Have some art and screens of it in action. I've been working on trying to have my art be more cohesive and evoking feelings in the player. Whether that succeeds remains to be seen.

I can't host GIFs from my twitter, so have some links to some of it in action.

Other than that, there's a weird soundtrack inspired by Einsturzende Neubauten and Akira Yamaoka, but even less melodic than either, available on my bandcamp (for free, this isn't a sales pitch lol).

I'm pretty happy with all of this.
