Mac OSX GMS2 Hanging on Name Changes (OSX el-cap)

Hi,
I have a horrendous time with GMS2 hanging ( "Saving...' or 'Processing...' for literally hours )
It only happens when creating or changing the name of newly created object/sprites/sounds etc.

It does actually save within a v.short time, so a reboot will get me back to the current state without losing even the newly created obj but it's v.time consuming.

On most of the times I've left it long enough it can comeback from the dead but this can be hours not minutes or seconds.

after a reboot, I can edit the names as if it wasn't a problem, but it will still happen when i create a new object again (and so on). I would say it happens with at least every 3rd object so you appreciate my frustraiton.

I assume it's not a common bug for everyone else there would be other posts about it so maybe its a perms issue with the files/folders on my mac. is there a required/recommended file/folder state I should chown/chmod to help get through this?

[SOLVED] I've discovered the hanging is a very real and annoying thing. I have concluded it happens when you have source control switched on but are using GMS without having added any source control server details.

Hope this helps.
