Game not running

Hey, I'm pretty novice when it comes to Gamemaker, and the game I was working on will no longer run. I was making it in DnD, and other projects still run. The only changes I made were creating a new sprite and adding a few blocks, and I tried running after deleting them but it still didn't work. I'm using Gamemaker 2.3.1.409. When I run it says "Entering main loop.

Sounds like the game is starting properly.

What happens after this? Does the game window show up, or does nothing show up?

If you check Task Manager, is a Runner.exe process running? Your game may be stuck in an infinite loop right after it starts. Depending on at which point you enter an infinite loop, the game window may not show up.

Try running your game in debug mode and pausing it, if it does start. This should point you towards where it's hanging. You can deduce what's causing the issue from there. Usually, faulty loops that don't have a proper exit condition or endless cycles of instances creating instances which create instances which create instances... are the cause of infinite loops.

In case anyone sees this with a similar problem, I was just a total idiot and had set a variable (health) to 0 instead of 3 by accident, and the room was set to restart when the variable was equal to 0. I don't know why the game just didn't run, but good luck if you have a similar issue.

The game did run, but as I said, was stuck in an endless loop. An endless loop of restarting the room, that is.

The game window is created on the first draw event, so if you restart the room over and over before it gets a chance to draw, the window is never created.
