Game hanging for a few seconds when I close it

This may have coincided with the latest update, so I'm not sure if it's related, but when I run it and then go to close, it takes it a second (sometimes several) before it closes. I thought maybe it was a memory leak but I'm running the debugger and it looks like it's hovering between 8 and 8.25mb the entire time.

My output says this:
Resizing swap chain...
Attempting to set gamepadcount to 0
Not shutting down steam as it is not initialised
Script_Free called
Unsetting previous scheduler resolution of 1

Seems like maybe something to do with a controller, even though a controller isn't even connected right now (I do have gamepad controls in the game though). I only mention the Game Maker update because I'm pretty sure this started happening after I installed it, and I didn't change anything with my controller since then. Anyone had a similar issue?
