STRICT (short for STRIng CompacTor) is a set of scripts that provide a simple way to compress and decompress short strings.
It's a simple implementation of a dictionary based replacement, but it can achieve a decent compression ratio on short strings compared to more sophisticated general algorithms like GZIP or LZLIB, that tend to do a better job only on larger sets of data.
It's nothing too fancy, just an old programming exercise, but I though I'd throw it out there for someone who may find this useful in some way.
