Hello,

Keep in mind, much of the artwork and objects are place holders for later to be imported graphics, text, etc.

*UPDATE 02-26-2021*

Scope of game has changed after a deep slumber sharpening my skills and understanding of how GML / GMS works. Game has been completely re-written from the ground up and is progressing rather quickly. Multiplayer is still intended eventually, and framework is being written into the new version of the game as the game develops, but will not be included at initial release.

I wouldn't worry about collaborating with anyone at this point. Just make the game yourself and learn. It looks like a good start to the game.

-Added and fixed death smoke / targeting

Next up:
-Planetary Defense AI targeting and shooting
-Planetary Shield damage / bombing

Then it's back to working on assets for a while and cleaning some of the place holder stuff up a bit :)

I've tried to keep it light hearted during this development so as I add things I'm using humor as place holders for the real stuff to come later :)

I also want this game to be moddable for players to sell their own artwork packs and game modes through my site. :D

The biggest thing is to keep learning as I go and overcome the obstacles without leaning on others for help as tempting as it may be. :)

It was put on hold for a while as personal & work life got hectic for a bit, but by the time I started GMS'ing I decided to focus on specific area's of GML and made a couple dozen miniature games to get better at the craft.

I've actually started recoding from the ground up because GMS has changed a bit in the past 3 years and some of my old code needed to be better written. So now it isn't multiplayer as originally intended but will be single-player with frame work for multiplayer to be supported later.

Sorry for the delayed response, I hadn't visited in a while and I never received an email to say there was a new post.

Lots of changes, development is proceedings rather quickly which goes to show how much I've learned over the past few years. It's way more enjoyable to be able to think of something and already know or have a good understanding of what needs to happen to bring something to life rather than banging my head on things and asking others for help lol.

Different races and ships have different weapon mounts and thruster mount points, which aren't explicitly shown in the latest video because they are still in the works. I will add some gif's later when I feel they are ready for public consumption lol. The development artwork had taken a drastic turn as I have brought on an artist who was very interested in working on this. I won't reveal the name until a later date, though I had thoughts of the art in a different way, his art is undeniably much better than what I intended so I decided to go with his suggestions.

Not only that, it frees me up to completely focus on programming rather than balancing my time patching in placeholder artwork and coding.
