When GM2 rolled around, I made the switch to tile based collisions. For a while I was like "Woo! Faster code! tons of things on screen!"
And then after using it for like 2 years that turned into "God I wish I didn't have to jump through 10 hoops to do anything at all"
So I'm thinking of going back to using objects. My assumption is that objects locked to a 16x16 grid would still be fairly fast, but I'd
like to know if there are any well known methods or tips that ensure that object based collisions are kept fairly optimized.
