Legacy GM exporting objects to an extension

this is just a simple question

if i export an object from my project into my extension, will the extension users have to import it to make use of it? or will simply having the extension in the project be enough?

another related question,, the export /import that you can do in extension , lets say googleplayservices, what is it for? making a game with ads and wonder if i need to export or import anything or can just leave it?
